Off-grid.net talks about building a small home solar electricity project for about $600. We tend to think of total home solar energy systems as costing thousands and thousands of dollars, but that’s not always true. HomeSolar.org has some home kits for mere thousands (without the ….and thousands). Remember, you should be able to gain tax credits for solar energy supplies. Also remember, your initial investment will be offset with access to free solar energy!
Back to the point of the Off Grid article. They talk about expandability. i.e. you can start with a system that will provide some power. Then, as time and finances permit, you can add to this system. A few hundred dollars spent now, and then another few hundred dollars added on in a year, may not seem that painful.
