Well, we haven’t found a solar car that is really available to the public for an affordable price. So until that happens we decided to look for some tips that will save on gasoline consumption. Of course, with all of the buzz over high gasoline prices, we saw a lot of wild ideas out there, but we decided to offer tested tips instead.

Back to the point of the Off Grid article. They talk about expandability. i.e. you can start with a system that will provide some power. Then, as time and finances permit, you can add to this system.
